Rising from the Ashes?

I've been putting off writing here because I had little to say that would add to the conversation. I put much faith in Steorn's commitment to the jury process. That and my belief that Sean and co are far from the idiots some make them out to be, kept me from walking away and giving in to the sceptic I'd become. Unlike many others making this journey, once I am certain that there is nothing to see, I will not stay for the entertainment value.
The jury result was another debacle; a disaster on the scale of the London un-demo. I felt let down and disappointed at my own gullibility. And yet, the niggling sense that the game was not over continued to bite. Was this just that gullibility gene making itself known?
When I started this journey, I thought I might contribute through my writing as I had little else to offer in the way of expertise or resources. My physics degree is sepia and I live an itinerant lifestyle. But, I concluded, I could write and I could serve a small part of this story. I could provide a window into the world of the SKDB for those on the outside and perhaps counter some of the unfounded negativity directed at Steorn.
The reality was that after my stance shifted to hopeful sceptic, I could no longer explore the brave new world I thought would be ours and the NDA limited the scope for reporting on anything else that I considered worthwhile.
Well, I am here still. My work and lifestyle demands that I ration my time ruthlessly. Being here now, is a message in itself. A sceptic, yes, and still cautious, but I can tell you with complete sincerity that it is not over. Steorn may yet surprise us all. Maybe.

Paul,

I had no idea you were in the SKDB. That would mean you've seen the modules released on the 20th of this month and now have additional knowledge of whatever they are on to.

It's interesting though that you are still in a wait and see mode.

Does that mean that the modules released didn't reveal anything new?

Hi zpe,

I can tell you that the SKDB is an extremely interesting place to be at the moment and that Sean and Co are living up to their promises. However, there is a long way to go and I am simply being cautious. There are many clever, talented and tenacious people behind the wire but my input is minimal - I merely observe these days. It is most interesting to see that the engineers within the company are capable of real innovation. They are capable of surprises and that makes one wonder what else they are capable of.

Steorn promised to report the jury results in 'The Economist'. The jury report is over two months old. When will Steorn live up to this promise?

Steorn promised to reschedule the failed Kinetica demo more than two years ago. When will they live up to that promise?

Steorn promised the SPDC that they would show video of a working device. This was again two years ago. When will they live up to that promise?

Paul,

I am so tired of the skeptics saying Steorn are stupid and saying Steorn are liars. After the jury I almost gave up hope. I thought maybe the oil barons got to Steorn. Thank God for you and this blog. Thanks to you I know the oil companies didnt get to Steorn the way they silenced others.

I think its time to shut the skeptics up. When you said youve seen great things from the engineers at Steorn my heart sang. Please let everyone know about the inventions. I hope you will write about the best ones. The skeptics will see they are the stupid ones.

I am thinking about holding a big party after the launch. I hope you will come. Its going to be so cool when we dont need oil anymore.

Keep up the great work. Together we can win over the skeptics.
