Steorn - Hope

I am outside my tent in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands. Powering my UPC with a solar panel in the pouring rain is not easy, but I thank the scientists and engineers, the business people and financiers who have made such a miracle even possible. My writing desk is anywhere in the world and I'm surrounded by beauty instead of four grey walls.

The weather has been so poor that I've rationed my power and therefore my time on the net. However, catching up with what's going on in the SPDC has, for the first time since the failed demo, put me back in an optimistic frame. I can't, for obvious reasons, say what, but interesting things are happening in there.

With my new pragmatic and sceptical head on, I will not go so far as to jump the fence again although I am tempted to do so. Steorn's silence may frustrate and infuriate some people but they are dancing to their own tune and I like the sound of it.

Perhaps, one day yet, we can all use an Orbo where the sun don't shine and Steorn might - just might - bring the planet what they promised. If that happens, I will regain something I wondered that I might have lost: faith in my ability to judge people, to recognise sincerity and to act on it no matter the odds.

lol. Hi Tom. I was not trying to insult any specific wall, but only the generic, metaphoric variety. Thanks for dropping by. Good to hear from you.

I, too, have optimistic feelings about the latest tidbits of info (finally) coming into the SPDC again.

As promising as the information appears to be, I can't help but feel like it's not all coming together though.

In other words, I feel as if I've gotten through three quarters of the way through a very good book called the "Steorn story". But now, I'm getting frustrated by just one more 'twist' or spin on the story; And, not that 'turning point' in the story where everything starts coming together for Steorn. Sadly, I truly thought the 'demo' would of been that turning point.

Like all good books (and stories), I feel like I've become apart of the book and feel all the emotions of everyone involved (including us, SPDCers). I admit, I even have a little sympathy for poor Grimer, too.

Well, perhaps just a little bit longer. They (Steorn) realizes that most of us just don't have anymore nails to bite off by now, don't they?

Cheers,
Kelly

Hi Kelly, a short answer because the rain still hammers down. You make the point well. Very encouraging and the nails are short. We have a long way to go in the story but I now feel that it is worth reading again.

Maybe it would be good if using the internet would require 48 hours of recharging.... :-)

lol,

What a great idea, Gabby. Think of all the time we could reclaim for World 1.0.

Hope the holiday went well and you enjoyed yourself. All very high tech! A laptop, solar power and a tent. I suspect you know more about technology than our friends at Steorn. And also have a lot more integrity.

Hi Paul. Great blog. It's been about a month since your last post... without giving away any details, how is life in the SPDC these days? Has Sean given any significant info, or posted at all lately? Do you have any reason to have more or less hope than you did one month ago that a new demo will take place? Thanks!

It would be good to have an update - even if you've got nothing to add, just to assure people like me that you haven't given up on the blog.

I have followed your blog throughout this story, and do hope there is more positive news to come.
